One more painting done... Not much to say about it. The same crap that I said about the others pertains to Saint No.38.

I think I marked a turning point on this one, because the two I am working on now have that extra brushy flair I have been struggling with having the ability to go with. Did that make any sense? I don't care, I'm exhausted... All I was saying is that I'm trying to "let it happen". Seems easy, right. Right? Bullshit! So fucking hard to look like you know what you are doing. Confidence is a form of mental retardation. I know that I suck, and I have to convince my hand I don't. Is anyone listening? I so dearly wish that I didn't care about painting. That way, I could get some fucking sleep.

Enjoy one more of these stupid fucking paintings, that with oily hands, are pulling my heart from my bloodless body.

MEDIUM: colored mud smeared on what is basically a coarse bedsheet.
SIZE: 24" x 48"

The suggestor writes, "With exemplary craftsmanship and a scorching intensity of vision, ~Doc-Hammer evinces a moment as timeless as it is emotionally complex in Saint No.38, a consummately rendered and classically beautiful oil painting." Please enjoy! (Suggested by `sphilr and Featured by ^snowmask)

her expression is a little more tense as opposed to the others in the series. but great execution none the less. you make me wanna go break into oils again.

Beautiful as always, and the expression is really stunning. The dark, brooding feel of the painting and the big HAMMER at the bottom get me to thinking about that old British horror studio by the same name. Ooh, you should paint Christopher Lee! Yeah, and he could be biting Christopher Walken on the neck and...

nevermind.

you are so adamant about this work of yours...it tears at me! well, even if you don't think it's perfect, i think what you create is wonderful, breathtaking, and genuine.

the whispers of light at her torso are incredible, as is the way her skin looks being pressed by her fingers. your art is definitely beautiful, so don't give up on yourself.

You know that the copyright crap at the bottom is not on the actual painting? Of course you do. But do you also know that I subconsciously went with a serif font for that kind of effect you spoke of? Of course you did

I used to tell people that I was related to the Hammer movie co. The truth is, there is no Hammer at Hammer. So anybody that really knew about Hammer Films, would have smelled my rat.
:icondoc-hammer:
It's okay. I get a lot more painting done because of how much painting kills me. Oh, that doesn't make much sense now, does it?
:icondoc-hammer:
I'm pretty easy-going in other parts of my life. I guess because I don't care as much about other parts of my life as much as I do about the painting...um...part.

well that's good :P when you're passionate about something, it's often hard to not be all uber-intense about it.

:rose: rock on.

Totally amazing dude :D. I really enjoy your level of detail in your paintings, and how vibrant the colors and light and shades are. Plus she looks absolutely gorgeous, and I love how you did her hair and face. Excellent pose for her too :). Fantastic work .

You know, yours are the first girls in bras I actually fully enjoy looking at.

Weird, you may think. Not quite, I say. Because - sod the flaws - there is an artistic quality to your work that lets the mundane appear exquisite.
