Oil on Canvas 11" x 14"

Seen one, ya seen them all. Not to me.

It's a series. Each painting expands on a very quiet theme. It is in this broad-based repetition that each painting's unique characteristics become huge gestures of a "moment". Ya see, they are all going to hang together in one room. Like a melancholic choir of tiny moments forever lost. Without having a rap like "This one is a tree, and this one is huge and mostly purple, etc." The viewer is forced to deal with each face, each moment... Ya know?

Anyway... I see all of these paintings as unique, little eternities of the human condition, and the feminine allure. And, yes, they have bras on. I am only slightly less confused by that as you should be.

MODEL: Carmen (again)... I'm running out of sitters!

you capture deep emotions in her. it's as if she is hurt, has kept it in her mind for a while, and you catch her on the brink of an utterance

wow. what a haunted look. :o

My comments aren't worth much...most of it is "wow...that's like...umm....good and junk" and "she's so sad"....and I understand neither of these reactions are all that helpful..

THings like that.

So, um, yes...I do like this. I enjoy just about all of the work I've seen from you.

...for what it's worth.

Shock, denial, acceptance, all in the razor's edge of that one moment, and somehow the overall effect is one of heart-stopping beauty...

I'm glad you find it beautiful... I do too. But you KNOW that if you were (and most probably have been) confronted by that face, you would pray that you were not to blame. And, that you could somehow find a way to comfort her.

You got the "razor's edge" idea. That makes me happy. This is the "place" right before the real, definitive "moment". Do I make as little sense as I fear I am?
:iconsphilr:
(i basically assumed I WAS to blame, even though I've never met her... ex-Catholic, my friend.)
You make sense to me, Doc; this is the penultimate place, the one that'll DEFINE the moment... Yeah?

The pencil is my life..... a pieces of paper and one pencil, nothing else and you've got the world in your hands.
