13.5" x 11", oil all up on the canvas' junk... (I wanted to put a "yo" after that, but I pussied out)

Here is the other portrait I had going during the completion of the larger work (Saint No.35)

I am in constant battle with drying times (welcome to oil painting!). So... I have to work on two paintings at a time. That way, when one is just too wet to work (safely), I can just turn around to my second easel and keep painting. Although it is an efficient solution to my workaholic psychosis, it takes time out of my social life. And you can't underestimate the importance of friends and lovers in the sanity of painters. But, I always can find a way to sneak out of being a functioning human being.

As for the model... Just look at that beautiful girl! But you have leaned too much about my sad life... Ya got me at a vulnerable time here I guess. So, I should just say that she is important to me. Please... Be kind to me... I have to start two paintings now, and you guys know what a bitch that is. Never easy, ya know? Just never easy.

People ask "why" we do it. But it is always "how do" we do it

NOTE: Detail of this in my SCRAPS

Your works amaze me. they are just so amazing. great job

It kills me that you'd have this in your scraps, even if it's just the details, because it's infinitely better than everything I've ever done put together.
This is amazing, I want to ramble on about skin tones and shadow and the models expression and the realism, and the eyes... Oh lord the eyes! But I think I could say that about every one of your paintings I've seen so far. I don't think I have to say what's good about this because you already know and if there's anything wrong you're the only one who notices.

I'm almost embarrased to leave comments beause you'll go to my gallery and that's just very embarassing... But there's a few ungodly paintings in there though most people that visit would rather ignore them. *stupid athro fanatics*
Hammer time.
For those constantly asking about a Realistic approach: why not just use a camera? THIS. THIS is why.
If a camera could see this, I'd totally agree. What Doc sees is the human soul, and he records it like a musician. :+fav:

I am way too aware of what is wrong with my work. Any time I get a "helpful tip" I am either going "Man, you think that is a problem? You should take another look at the (insert everything here)" or, "Look man, that isn't helpful to pick on a finished work... You need to get in my brain and pick on the work I am doing now." And I am so glad that isn't possible, I have too many voices in there as it is. So, you are dead on in thinking that I am a tougher critic on my self than I need/want any of you guys to be. It would be just way too much negativity... I'm trying to make pretty over here.
