I thought this would be interesting to some of you. Because I use this site for my paintings, I have some reluctancy here (and that is why this is a "scrap"). But I decided to show some of this because I don't want you guys to think I am all "paint only". It's so damn far from the truth. I was able to draw in Adobe Illustrator before I could with a pen.
So... If you have ever wondered who does the little graphic nonsense (nobody ever gives a shit about) on the Venture Brothers... Well, that crap falls on me. I guess I shouldn't say "falls" on me, because I kinda pull the pile down on myself. I am all extra persnickety about these little details. And... so is Jackson. We love to get this kinda crap "right". Jackson has come to save these little graphic jobs for me to do. Why? Because I am a nut who will spend way too much time on it, and do it for free. If I don't do it, I see the results of a little gem in the making left in the hands of an overworked animator, and I flip-out, like a child... "Ahhh, come on! It should be way more cool than that!" So I do it myself. You guys will never understand how much little pieces of shit Jackson and I have to do ourselves... Thankless crap. Yet... It's worth it. Isn't it? We think so.
These are the logos for the Guild of Calamitous Intent. When I do logos, I do a whole bunch of them and let Jackson choose. The problem is, Jackson never tells me which one he went with... because of that, I do them all as finals. Come to think of it, because I am not the most ummm, "punctual" person with these things... We never decided on a final. So when I did the G.C.I. Handbook, I just went with the most arcane one. There may be a use for the others yet.
And... the first person that gets one of these as a tattoo, will receive a prize. If I beat you all to this rather insane thing to permanently do to your body... The prize will be of lesser value.
NOTE: The contest is over... We have a winner! And even though we have been scooped on being the first, Jackson and I are still considering getting one of these forever carved and inked on our precious bulk. Ask us at Comicon if we "whuss'ed-out" on it...
All done in adobe Illustrator 10... No clip art is EVER used
I give a shit as well. Several, in fact. And despite my lack of money and fear of needles/parental annoyance, I desire the baby on the bottom left to be forever on my ankle..
interesting...maybe I'll sit down & watch Venture Brothers...generally my tv is very neglected & used as a book rest, but cartoons are good for the soul -- I'll have to check it out. The designs look like they'd make fantastic tattoos, but I'm all set for now.
alright hammer.....your on.....I will have that tattoo before this day is done......and that prize better be rockin......
p.s. I got paint supplies and am working on subject matter....I think I'll just go from pictures at the moment.....the confidence to waste the time of a model isn't in me yet......
[link] and I took the time to watch the credits at the end of the venture brothers.....what don't you do
Alas, sadly there will be no winage for this here tattoo fan as, if I get another tattoo anytime soon it will be another part of one of the parcial sleeves I am working on. But I don't rule out it never happening. The one with the globe, dragon and letters only is growing on me.

The logo that was put on the book would make for an awesome tattoo indeed . I really like these concepts, they definetely came out nice. Though it was great thinking to go with the most arcane one. Nice work .

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
