I thought this would be interesting to some of you. Because I use this site for my paintings, I have some reluctancy here. But I decided to show some of this because I don't want you guys to think I am all "paint only". It's so damn far from the truth. I was able to draw in Adobe Illustrator before I could with a pen.

So... If you have ever wondered who does the little graphic nonsense (nobody ever gives a shit about) on the Venture Brothers... Well, that crap falls on me. I guess I shouldn't say "falls" on me, because I kinda pull the pile down on myself. I am all extra persnickety about these little details. And... so is Jackson. We love to get this kinda crap "right". Jackson has come to save these little graphic jobs for me to do. Why? Because I am a nut who will spend way too much time on it, and do it for free. If I don't do it, I see the results of a little gem in the making left in the hands of an overworked animator, and I flip-out, like a child... "Ahhh, come on! It should be way more cool than that!" So I do it myself. You guys will never understand how much little pieces of shit Jackson and I have to do ourselves... Thankless crap. Yet... It's worth it. Isn't it? We think so.

This is the cover of the Guild of Calamitous Intent Handbook used by the Monarch (and Hank) in "Are You There God? It's Me Dean". I want Adult Swim to use it as the cover of a notebook. They make this fake Venture Brothers book that is kinda goofy. I mean, I like the idea, but they missed the mark on the illustration. I think my guild cover would be cool if it were used as one of those stupid notebooks... I'd get one. And, Jackson should do a cover of Giant Boy Detective as one. Don't know, might be too insider for those skittish guys at [as].

All done in adobe Illustrator 10, made nice-nice in Photoshop... No clip art is EVER used.

The graphics like these in VB are fantastic. I only wish they were featured a bit more prominently. So many things go by in a flash/are obscured[like Dr. Venture's doodles or the cover of Flight of the Monarch.. or the OSI licenses.. :ramble:], and I only catch them on the second or third viewing. Anyhow, this is a lovely design! One of my favorites. Thank you for putting it up!
MMmm thankless crap! My favorite! It is worth it. Atleast people *see* and *love* your thankless crap. Heh. Either way. This is great. Very Nefarious, in that overly organized way.

Ooh! I dig the leather texture and guilded accents, very nice.
Instant fave.

I'm glad to see supplements like this in the VB universe...and it looks so real! Great job!
The guys at [as] are skittish?

Awww, and they've always seemed so edgy in the bumps. :D

I'd buy a Guild sketchbook/notebook/blankbook... golly, it's sounds keen!
You know it's seeing things like this in detail that floor me. I had no idea just how deep you were in these projects, nor that you were involved in televised shows at all. This explains to me once more just how connected the artistic community is, and what a wonderful thing DA is for those of us without a clue how to get where guys like you are.

Anyway, I am always interested in the detail aspect of story creation. The inclusion of such little pieces such as this in shows, cartoons, etc, makes the worlds portrayed... well, "more realistic" may not be the words to use in this case, but hopefully someone will understand what I mean.

Without details in the background there is very little to ground events and characters in, and things get to feeling kind of hollow after a while to me. Ah well, I've really rambled here and said nothing of real import.

So, thank you for sharing these little pieces of detail. Understanding your reluctance makes it even more appreciated. Nice work, cool explanations, all of that good stuff.

Be yourself. Just be. That is all you need to do to impress me.

Wow dude, that's totally sick how you actually drew that :D. I really enjoy the design and texturing, and it's good to see Jackson thought this was "right," because it totally is :). Very nice dude .
